The Portland State University Middle East Studies Center proudly hosts an annual conference on the Middle East for undergraduate students. The conference offers a unique opportunity for students with an interest in the Middle East to meet and learn more about the region from their peers. Much of the program is devoted to student presentations. Attendees are invited to lead a session or to listen and participate in discussion.

Call for Proposals:
The Middle East Studies Center invites proposals for conference sessions from undergraduate students. Presentations could include the following:
- Student research projects
- Topics not usually covered in standard Middle East area studies or language courses
- Class projects
- Field studies
- Exhibitions or performances
- Panel discussions
Students are encouraged to work closely with faculty to shape their presentations and proposals. Students with an interest in presenting at the conference should submit a session proposal form by Friday, April 25, 2014.
Registration is open to all undergraduate students.
